Job Title: EDM Machinist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled EDM Machinist to join our team. The role involves interpreting blueprints, CAD drawings, and specifications to set up and operate Wire EDM machines. The machinist will be responsible for loading and aligning workpieces, programming machines using CNC software, threading and managing EDM wire, and monitoring machine performance.

• Set up and operate Wire EDM machines.
• Load and align workpieces.
• Program the machine using CNC software.
• Thread and manage EDM wire.
• Monitor machine performance and production.
• Perform inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMMs.
• Troubleshoot wire breaks, accuracy issues, and machine alarms.
• Complete preventive maintenance and machine upkeep.

• Experience with CNC setup and operation.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience in holding tight tolerances (often ±0.0002" to ±0.001").
• Quality inspection experience.
• Troubleshooting ability.

• Mechanical aptitude and changeover experience.
• Experience with lathe operations and using calipers.

This position operates during the 2nd shift from 3pm to 11:30pm, Monday to Friday, in a climate-controlled facility. Employees are exposed to machinery with moving parts typical of a manufacturing environment and may occasionally encounter fumes. Earplugs and safety glasses are mandatory personal protective equipment in this area, with additional PPE provided as required.

This is a Permanent position based out of Spartanburg, SC.

The pay range for this position is $68640.00 - $79040.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
